How CookReel works

Import a recipe, and CookReel lays it out as a board of ingredients and cooking actions. That board becomes a shot list. You fill each slot with a photo โ€” from your library, or from the samples that ship with the app โ€” then export the result as a vertical video, ready to post.

Common questions

Importing a recipe by pasting its text

Every recipe can come in as text. Copy the recipe from the page, choose "paste the recipe text instead", and CookReel reads it directly โ€” handy when a site keeps its pages to itself. You can also start from a template and build the board yourself.

Restoring Clean Export on this or a new device

Open the export screen, tap "Remove watermark", then "Restore Purchases". That re-checks your Apple Account and re-enables it. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so this works on every device you sign into.

Seeing the price on the buy button

The price appears as soon as the App Store answers, and it is always the real price the store will charge you. If the button is still loading, close the sheet and open it again in a moment.

Finding your exported reel

Finished reels are saved to your Photos library. CookReel uses permission to add to Photos to put them there, which you can grant in Settings โ€บ Privacy & Security โ€บ Photos โ€บ CookReel.

Bringing your footage into a reel

CookReel builds your reel from photos you choose. Film with your camera app, then bring the shots in โ€” or fill slots from the samples that ship with the app.
